Seun Kuti reveales his mother once hid cannabis in bread to deliver it to Fela in prison

Afro Beat Singer , Seun Kuti has recounted how Fehintola, his late mother, once hid cannabis inside bread and asked him to deliver it to Afro Beat Legend Fela Kuti, his late father, while he was detained.
Speaking in a recent interview, the musician disclosed that the late Afrobeat legend was detained at the Federal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Alagbon Close, Lagos.
Seun revealed that he was unaware at the time that he was carrying contraband to his father.
“We were going to visit my father at Panti, and my mum bought bread to give to him. She hid ‘Igbo’ inside the bread and asked me to hand it over when we got there,” he said.
“Bear in mind, I was about eight or nine years old. My parents were such gangsters, man! I didn’t even know what was going on. I just got there and gave the bread to my dad.
“On our way home, my sister asked if I knew there was Igbo in the bread. My mum had told her, but didn’t tell me because she knew I might have said something to the police.”
Seun, 45, further noted that he visited his father in several detention facilities during his childhood.
“I’ve been to see my father in many places. I remember visiting him at Ikoyi Prison, Kirikiri Prison, Panti, and Alagbon,” he said
