LASG SET TO COMMENCE 2025 IBILE YOUTH ACADEMY

The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development has concluded plans for the 2025 Ibile Youth Academy.
This was announced today by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, at the Secretariat, Alausa, where he reeled out the lineup of activities for the programme.
According to Mr Ogunlende, the physical screening of the applicants would be held from 5th-9th January, 2026 and the training from 26th-29th January, 2026, across the five divisions comprising Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos and Epe. The One Day Leadership Seminar would run from 3rd to 5th February,2026, while the Residential Bootcamp would take place from 8th to 14th February, 2026, and the Closing Ceremony would take place between 24th and 26th February, 2026.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm (Mrs) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu stressed the importance attached by the Ministry to the annual programme.
Pharm (Mrs) Oke-Osanyintolu said, “The Ibile Youth Academy is one of the major programmes of the Ministry designed to inculcate in our youth the virtues of volunteerism, citizenship and leadership. It is aimed at equipping our youth who are supposed to take over the mantle of leadership from the adults with everything they need to perform even better than their predecessors in any walk of life they find themselves in. This programme, which aligns perfectly with Mr Governor’s policy of Youth Development in the THEMES Plus Agenda, has over the years produced young leaders who are making waves in different spheres of life.”
The Permanent Secretary disclosed that after the training and Residential Bootcamp, the overall best participant would be picked as the State Youth Ambassador, while the next five, in terms of excellent performance, would be picked as Divisional Ambassadors representing the five divisions of the State, whose responsibilities would be to implement pet projects in their various communities.
