Ajegunle-Apapa Residents Raise Alarm Over Three-Month Power Outage

•Seek LASCOPA’s Intervention Against Eko Electricity Company
Residents of Ibitoye Street, off Ojo Road, in the Ajegunle-Apapa area of Lagos State, have raised concerns over a power outage that has lasted three months.
In a statement, residents said they had been left without electricity by Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), with no clear explanation for the disruption.
They said the community development association had made several attempts to discuss the matter with the company, but those efforts had not yielded results.
One resident said the dispute may be linked to billing, alleging that some customers had been accused of paying less than the amount charged. However, residents said they could not continue paying two separate, high bills.
The community is calling on the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) to intervene.
