SANWO-OLU COMMENDS LAGOSIANS ON MONTHLY SANITATION DAY

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended residents for the successful return of the monthly Sanitation Day held on Saturday.
From Ikorodu to Badagry, Lagos Island to Mainland, and Alimosho to Ikeja and Agege, residents turned out in large numbers to clean their environment.
Sanwo-Olu noted the enthusiasm of Lagosians who heeded the call to revive a culture that kept the state clean and healthy.
“I thank Lagosians who joined the call to clean up our environment as a sure step to good health. That is patriotic; it is the Spirit of Lagos we often speak about. We should continue to walk that path,” the governor said.
He urged residents to stop indiscriminate refuse dumping, especially with the rainy season approaching.
The state government has begun a massive cleanup of gutters and drainage systems to prevent flooding, following forecasts of heavy rainfall this year.
The Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Strategy, has launched a campaign against indiscriminate waste disposal and blocked drainage
