SANWO-OLU CALLS FOR STRONGER MORAL VALUES AT C&S UNIFICATION CHURCH 2026 CONFERENCE

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has called for sustained moral regeneration, faith-driven leadership, and strengthened collaboration between government and the Church as Nigeria continues its journey towards sustainable development and social stability.

The Governor made the call in his goodwill message at the 2026 Annual General Conference of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, held on Thursday at the Whitestone Event Place, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister ’Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, warmly welcomed spiritual leaders, delegates, and worshippers from across the country to Lagos State, describing the conference as timely and significant.

He commended the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church under the leadership of its Supreme Head, His Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo, for its unwavering commitment to prayer, holiness, moral discipline, and service to humanity. He noted that the Church has consistently played a vital role in strengthening family values, shaping responsible citizens, and promoting peaceful coexistence, adding that faith-based institutions remain indispensable partners in national development and community building.

The Governor highlighted the focus of his administration’s THEMES Plus Agenda, which prioritises transportation and traffic management, health and the environment, education and technology, economic growth, entertainment and tourism, as well as security and governance. He stressed that youth development, gender equality, and inclusivity remain deliberate and integral pillars of the administration’s policies.

He said “Lagos State has recorded notable progress in transportation infrastructure, healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, digital innovation, housing provision, and security, driven by policies aimed at improving the quality of life of all residents”.

Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the complementary role of the Church in providing moral guidance, youth mentorship, social welfare support, and care for the vulnerable, emphasising that continuous engagement between government and the Church is essential to building a just, inclusive, prosperous, and resilient society.

Governor Sanwo-Olu assured participants of the State Government’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for religious activities, stressing that faith remains central to peace, stability, and good governance. He concluded by praying for a spiritually enriching and impactful conference, greater unity within the Church, and continued growth in relevance and service to humanity.

Earlier in his address, the Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo described the Conference as “A platform for reflection, policy direction, spiritual renewal, and administrative realignment.” He urged governments at all levels to pursue policies that would strengthen true federalism, promote economic prosperity, and ensure social justice across the country.
